This role will support Harbour BioMed’s Corporate Development activities, by coordinating high-impact strategic growth opportunities on a global scale. As an essential member of the Corp. Dev. team, this role will empower Harbour BioMed's long-term strategy by implementing deal process workflows and engaging directly with internal and external stakeholders across mergers & acquisitions (M&A), in-licensing, out-licensing, and strategic partnership projects.
1. Strategic Analysis & Opportunity Management:
• Conduct landscape analysis to monitor the competitive environment, identify key industry trends, and map emerging technologies and therapeutic targets relevant to Harbour BioMed's strategy.
• Proactively identify new strategic opportunities, including potential M&A targets, assets for in licensing, and strategic partnerships with biotech companies, pharmaceutical peers, and academic institutions, and help build relationships with these partners.
• Establish and maintain tracking systems and deal process workflows to prioritize and streamline the global strategic partnering process.
2. Evaluation & Due Diligence:
• Contribute to initial screening and evaluation of inbound and outbound opportunities.
• Manage comprehensive due diligence processes by coordinating cross-functional teams, including R&D, Clinical, Regulatory, Legal, Finance, and Commercial.
• Build financial models to support valuation, deal structuring, and ROI analysis for potential transactions.
3. Transaction Execution & Integration Support:
• Develop and prepare presentation materials to support business cases and strategic recommendations for senior leadership.
• Support the Chief Strategy Officer in negotiating key terms and structuring deals to align with the company's strategic and financial objectives.
• Assist in the drafting of term sheets and collaborate with the legal department on definitive agreements.
• Provide support for post-deal integration planning to ensure strategic objectives are met.
1. Bachelor’s degree (Business/Marketing/Healthcare-related preferred). An MBA is preferred.
2. 3+ years of experience in corporate development, business development including in- and/or out-licensing, or project management. Biopharma industry experience is preferred.
3. Knowledge of the drug discovery, development, and commercialization process.
4. Experience with financial modeling, biopharma deal structure and valuation is preferred.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel and PowerPoint. CRM tool experience (e.g., Salesforce) is preferred.
6. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work with cross-cultural teams.
7. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to present complex concepts to executive leadership.
